Founder of Sherpa Watches is Martin Klocke, a Swiss born German mechanical engineer, Buddhist and long-time admirer of iconic watch brands like Roamer, Certina, Bulova, Enicar, Junghans and Favre-Leuba. He studied the now classic Sherpa dive watches from the past, dedicated to bring back these celebrated models and pay tribute to the Sherpa people whose reliability and toughness are an inspiration for him.
In the archives in Switzerland, Martin unravelled the secrets of the highly respected watch case producer Ervin Piquerez SA, better known to vintage watch enthusiasts as EPSA, to stay true to the original technology, style and quality.
Together with a dedicated team of renowned Swiss and German craftsmen who share his passion, he is on the brink of releasing the first two watch models under the Sherpa Watches brand. An event that after 60 years will mark the rebirth of the true ‘Compressor dive watch’ and premiere the ‘mantramatic’ watch movement.

Founded in 2019, Sherpa Watches finds its inspiration in the golden age of watchmaking. And what an inspiring period it was. We climbed to the roof of the Mount Everest, descended into the immense depth of the oceans and we pushed our boundaries on land, in the air and even in space.
During these defining moments in time, we were guided by experts and exciting new technology. The gentle and laborious Sherpa people from Nepal supported the risky mountain expeditions and the watches of the mountaineers proved both accurate and crucial. When diving into the deep, the state-of-the-art time pieces withstood the pressure and kept their owners safe.
